Research has shown that early exposure to a second language is highly beneficial to children.
Children under the age of six years old are gifted with an absorbent mind and are in a sensitive period for language acquisition. Sensitive periods are times during which the brain is specifically efficient at some types of learning. During a sensitive period, children can learn rapidly if the opportunity is provided. Once a sensitive period has passed, it is harder to learn a new concept or skill.
When children are introduced to a second language in early childhood, they are more likely to achieve native-like fluency. Young children are fascinated by the human voice and the sounds of the spoken word. They can learn a new language easily and effortlessly.
The Montessori-based French Program is a unique language immersion program designed to introduce French naturally and respectfully to children through stimulating sensorimotor activities, songs, rhymes and finger-plays.
All of our classes are mixed-age classes for children between the ages of 6 months to 5 years old. The mixed-age classes foster a natural family-style learning environment. Children can participate at their own level and learn at their own pace. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones, while older children develop self-confidence by modeling and teaching younger ones.
We regret that we will not be offering the French Program this Fall. If you wish to be notified when we start offering the Program again, please email us.
